Peaches were on the menu for breakfast today. As usual when we finished the first cup Charlize wanted more. As I walked to the kitchen I said, Don't worry baby girl, I'll get you some more." She instantly started crying because I was walking away. Because of her infant state she could not understand that my walking away was necessary to provide for her and I was actually taking care of her. It made me stop and think how many times I am an infant before God. I call out to Him and cry for my needs and how many times I don't listen or trust Him and think nothing is happening when in fact He is providing for my every need. God doesn't ever "walk away" from us but am I still such an infant before Him that I percieve His actions as such?
"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? . . . For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you." Matthew 6:25 and following

Great post. It is amazing how God uses our young children to show us truths about ourselves.
