San Clemente

God has again provided for our needs with a short term job. Some friends of ours from Phoenix bought a vacation house in San Clemente, CA that needs to be remodeled. Mike left last week to work on it. Logistics just didn't work for Charlie and I to go so we are staying in Prescott for the time. Looks like our part of the job will take 2-3 months and we'll try to fit one or two weekend visits in. So far Mike has been pretty lonely being in a new town all alone with nothing to do after work in the evening. He is getting help later this week from an old co-worker to help the project along. I think this life is effecting Charlize the most. Every morning she asks for her Da Da. Everytime she sees my phone she asks to call him and there are usually tears involved when we have to say goodbye. It's hard to see but on the other hand I'm glad she is remembering him and that she loves him so much.

Charlize and I have done some exploring and I'm starting to understand the labrynth of Prescott a little better. We're also starting to make some friends from church. The weather is so nice! 55 at night. 85 days.

Linda and I planted a garden which has proved to be quite the challenge here. Almost every morning we find a new plant that has been eaten to the ground. A little discouraging but we built some cages yesterday that should help. So far we have tomatoes, peppers, basil, cillantro, strawberries, rasberries, blackberries, carrots, onions, cucmbers, zuccini, watermellon, cantelope, corn and mint growing. We'll see how it goes.

I SOOO sympathaize with a traveling daddy and how hard it is on the kiddos - I am sorry. Sounds like you are staying busy and I am glad for that - it will help to pass the time! :)

That is sweet how much Charlize misses her daddy and remembers him. Hopefully, the 2-3 months will go by quickly for you and Charlize. It sounds like you are enjoying some awesome weather in Prescott.

A garden! How fun, I am jealous...all those yummy fresh foods! If the "eater" is a rabbit you can buy blood-meal (usually by the fertilizer in stores) and sprinkle it around. Rabbits hate it but it won't hurt anything and isn't toxic you just have to replace it after a good rain.

We're praying for you!

Just remember to remind Mike that each time he returns to see you, that you will have changed in appearance. And he is expected to behave and resist any comment that will make you feel like dirt.

He actually thinks I look hot when I'm prego. It's a great ego boost when I feel like a bus!
